The first pictured above is the Hyundai 3,000 Watt 196cc OHV Silent Gas Powered Portable Generator. We’ve found this unit for sale online with free shipping and a price tag as low as about $615. It features a nice and large fuel tank and a gauge so you can know where you’re at with your fuel level. It should provide many hours of power. This is a nice feature and could be easily under appreciated. You don’t want to be filling the tank all the time, like in the middle of the night, do you? For a nice smooth output of power, it has AVR, as well as a big muffler to keep the noise to a minimum. The unit has a special sensor so if the oil gets too low, it will shut off automatically. That could really save your bacon. Since this unit is non-CARB compliant, you can’t use it if you live in California. Don’t let us forget to mention it as 2 power sockets and a 12v DC out, a voltmeter, a 30mA circuit breaker, and lastly, an hour meter.

Next, there’s the long-named All Power America APG3202 6,500 Watt 10 HP Silent Diesel Powered Generator with Electric Start & Wheel Kit. This unit is pricer, at about $1800, but for good reason. It’ll surge to 6500 watts and is rated to run at 5000 watts. Folks, that’s a lot of power. It boats an electric start and an included battery, and the all important quietness of only 70dB of output noise. Four gallons of fuel will provide you with eleven hours of power at half load, and eight hours at full load. Two AC 120 volt outlets (one is a 120V twist-lock, the other is a 120/240), and a DC 12V grace it’s housing. This 10 HP unit uses diesel for fuel. High power, but higher cost.

Now, the 3500 Watt 120/240VAC Emergency and Jobsite Power Generator with Wheel Kit. This 6.5 HP unit brags that it is ultra-smooth running with only a 67dB noise output. It has a 3000 watt run and 3500 watt peak power capability. All for about $290. It has the low oil shutoff as well and should run about 8 hours on its 3 gallon tank. It has a one year warranty and comes with circuit breakers. It’s not bad on vibration because it has vibration absorbing motor mounts, which is nice.

Let’s finish up with the Blue Max GEN 1250 1250-Watt 2-Horsepower 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Generator. This 150-dollar highly portable unit lives up to decent power levels as its 1250 watt name implies. It is recoil start and has wonderful reliability. The manufacturer claims to never have any warranty claims or any troubles using the unit or starting it. It’s been for sale as is for several years. This unit can be considered for emergency power, camping, construction, or even boating. It is lightweight and will power pretty much anything. If you need high portability and reliability, but not full-house running power, this is a great unit. Oh, and it’s about 60dB of noise, not bad.
